Everything changes. It’s a law of nature. The good things in life are like soap bubbles – magical, shimmering, make-you-smile moments. But if you try to grab and hang onto them, you will destroy them. The baby grows up, the parent dies, winter kills the tulips, only for spring to bring them back. The wheel turns. The meal is delightful in the moment because of the combination of flavors, the company, the occasion, and the degree of hunger. If you ate the exact same meal every day, you could never replicate the experience. Pay attention and appreciate all of the bubbles while they last. Watch them until they float away and burst in a little spray. Then go make new ones.
