As we kiss the first decade of the 21st century goodnight, I am pressed to look for the high spots in a challenging decade. It came to me while cleaning out some old photographs and I realized that what I was so critical of in myself in the past, looks pretty good today! As they say, we're not getting any younger.
In 2020, I'll consider 2009 the good old days. The smile lines will have deepened. The meal I shared with my family will never taste any better in the future. Some of my dear ones will have left the planet by 2020 and I will think back to a conversation we had or a laugh we shared back in 2009. We can look forward but ten years from now doesn't exist. There is only now.
The future is created out of this moment. Give it a good start!
